Accela Developer (Local Government Systems)
Location: Hybrid in Kentucky (primarily remote, occasional onsite as needed)
Type: Contract (with potential for contract-to-hire)
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Accela Developer to support and enhance enterprise applications used within a local government environment. This role focuses on configuring, scripting, integrating, and maintaining work order and CRM systems, with a strong emphasis on Accela-based solutions. The ideal candidate is hands‑on technically, comfortable partnering with business stakeholders, and experienced working across the full software development lifecycle.
This position offers the opportunity to work on mission‑critical public sector systems and has a potential path into a long‑term Information Systems Architect role.
Responsibilities- Develop, configure, and maintain applications within a Work Order Management and CRM platform
- Design and support API integrations between internal and external systems
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extracts
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and data issues
- Collaborate with cross‑functional, fully remote technical teams and business partners
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Support multiple environments (development, test, production) across the SDLC
- Use version control systems to manage code and deployments
- Assist with system documentation, technical specifications, and knowledge transfer
- Participate in occasional onsite meetings, training sessions, or project work as needed
- Experience working with APIs and system integrations
- Proficiency writing SQL queries for reporting and data analysis
- Experience configuring and scripting within a Work Order Management system
- Experience configuring or supporting a CRM platform
- Ability to act as both a developer and a business analyst
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
- Experience working with distributed or fully remote teams
- Ability to meet government security and access requirements
- Willingness to attend onsite meetings when required
- Hands‑on experience with Accela or similar government platforms
- Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, or SSRS
- Exposure to local or state government business processes
- Experience with platforms such as Open Gov, Salesforce, Civic Plus, Granicus, or Infor Public Sector
- Project management or technical lead experience
- Located near or able to commute to a major metro area when needed
