Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Specialized Field Service department as Lead Field Service Technician. As a Lead Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switch gear, motor controls, and more. As a leader in both the shop and field environments, you'll spearhead critical operations, ensuring the reliability and functionality of essential electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi‑Pot, Hi‑Current, and Timing tests.
  • Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear‑down, refurbishment, and parts replacement.
  • Utilize and accurately read meters.
  • Read schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshoot circuit controls.
  • Read and plot time‑current curves.
  • Read and understand electrical one‑line drawings and symbols.
  • Test power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Accurately and consistently document using Power DB.
  • Work with electrical testing equipment and tools.
Qualifications
  • 5‑7 years of related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution, and related protection and control schemes.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
  • Licensure and certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
  • Education:

    High School Diploma.
  • Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing) due to the nature of safety‑related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, and job management ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power

    DB, Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
