You must possess a Journeyman Certification or completion of a four year Apprenticeship Program to be considered for this position.
Essential FunctionsEssential Functions
:
Performs a variety of electrical maintenance work of traffic engineering and other electrical equipment

UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION
- Installs and repairs electrical traffic signals and other electrical equipment
- Assists foreperson lay-out and design work projects
- Trains apprentices to perform the work
- Follows established health and safety procedures
- Maintains tools and equipment
- Discusses work problems and projects with co-workers
- Performs related work
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Works at locations with limited or difficult access including uneven terrain
Identifies wiring based on color codes
Minimum Requirements
:
Must possess a Journeyman Certification or completion of a four year Apprenticeship Program

:
Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the Department of Transportation
Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Special RequirementsSpecial Requirements
:
Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes or obtain within six months of employment
