EM Electrician Journeyman

You must possess a Journeyman Certification or completion of a four year Apprenticeship Program to be considered for this position.

Performs a variety of electrical maintenance work of traffic engineering and other electrical equipment.

Exercises lead responsibility over apprentices.

UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION

• Installs and repairs electrical traffic signals and other electrical equipment.
• Assists foreperson lay‑out and design work projects.
• Trains apprentices to perform the work.
• Follows established health and safety procedures.
• Maintains tools and equipment.
• Discusses work problems and projects with co‑workers.
• Performs related work.

• Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
• Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing.
• Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting.
• Works at locations with limited or difficult access including uneven terrain.
• Identifies wiring based on color codes.

• Must possess a Journeyman Certification or completion of a four‑year Apprenticeship Program.

• Must submit to and pass pre‑employment and random alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the Department of Transportation.
• Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes or obtain within six months of employment.

IMSA Level II (A) Electrical Allowance – Level II (A) Electrical/TS Field Tech: 0.30

IMSA Level II (A) Electronic Allowance – Level II (B) Electronic/TS Bench Tech: 0.50

IMSA Level III Allowance – Level III/TS III Field Technician: 0.10

Electronic and Data Courses Allowance – Electronic and Data Courses: 0.30
