Service Technician I
Compensation: $23.40–$34.40 per hour.
Available Shift: Monday–Friday.

SUMMARY The Service/Repair Technician I is entry level, requiring fundamental mechanical/electrical aptitude and some troubleshooting experience. Responsible for providing on‑site support to Hobart Service customers, including installation and servicing of commercial food equipment. Routine work schedule includes on‑call, after‑hours, holiday and weekend on‑site repair support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Install basic mechanical commercial food equipment and assist in more advanced installs as needed.
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair basic mechanical commercial food equipment for customers on contract and/or time‑and‑material basis.
- Complete and document preventative maintenance on basic mechanical commercial food equipment.
- Implement and support standard operating procedures outlined in Hobart Service safety manuals and programs.
- Support branch and organization financial objectives by providing a quality customer experience.
- Maintain current organization, industry, and equipment knowledge.
- Responsible for assigned company assets including vehicle, tools, and inventory.
- Follow the company’s safe driving and other applicable policies.
Required Education and Work Experience High school diploma or GED and 0–2 years of electrical/mechanical experience.
Desired Education/Experience
- Associate’s Degree or Vocational Certificate preferred.
- Mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
- Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial cooking and/or refrigeration equipment preferred.
- Service/Repair Technician 1 2 Certificates and Licenses Position/Location dependent.
- Job‑Specific Knowledge: mechanical aptitude, customer service, problem solving, safety at work.
