HDR invites you to join as a Waste Sector Business Development Director, leading client engagement and driving strategic growth within the evolving solid waste landscape.
What You’ll Do- Lead strategic growth and drive HDR’s global market share and revenue.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with key clients and align HDR’s capabilities to meet their goals.
- Lead major pursuits, develop winning strategies, and guide proposal efforts reflecting deep client insight.
- Collaborate with market and operations leadership to define and support regional strategic plans.
- Mentor and train business development teams, fostering a culture of client focus and strategic thinking.
- Align resources and collaborate with partners to match talent to growth opportunities and attract great people.
- Global booking goals achievement for the Waste Sector.
- Regional Waste business development leadership management.
- Strong understanding of Waste market trends and drivers.
- Vision creation for the Waste program aligned with company direction.
- Annual and long‑term strategic planning and investment prioritization.
- Cross‑market strategic initiatives in the RBG.
- Lead major pursuit teams and capture planning.
- Candidate identification for management, technical, BDD, marketing positions.
- Training development on BDD and marketing best practices.
- Long‑term client strategy development and market share capture.
- Client management for significant Waste sector accounts.
- Partnership team relationship building.
- Professional association participation to elevate HDR’s brand.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Professional or engineering registration, or related technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience winning high‑value contracts in the Waste industry.
- Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience.
- Self‑starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.
- Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s standard procurement approach.
- Ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Network building of clients and industry partners.
- Sales experience and effective win strategy development.
- Financial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Travel and engagement willingness.
- Experience growing programs in new or highly competitive markets.
- Experience winning high‑value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
- Experience writing compelling content based on technical staff information.
