Job Title:
Salesperson – Automotive Parts Store
Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. It also involves sourcing from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of inventory and maintenance processes. Position can be part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help store reach its sales targets.
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Responsible for inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
- Store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- General stocking: truck stocking and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
Job Skills
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operate inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Operate POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus).
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs.
- Use basic math accurately.
- Work assorted days, evenings, weekends as needed.
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment.
- Automotive parts experience is preferred for the Driver role.
- Must have valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyer.
- Daily collection of credit accounts.
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to walk or stand predominantly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The employee is usually working inside but occasionally outside with exposure to weather, moving mechanical parts, high places, hazardous chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
