Zoo Service Clerk

Essential Functions

Greets zoo patrons and operates a Point of Sale Software.

• Counts money to verify amounts received and issues receipts.
• Meets and greets patrons visiting the zoo.
• Operates a cash drawer and a computer Point of Sale Software.
• Receives payment by cash, check and credit card from the public.
• Prepares daily reports and logs entries.
• Balances cash receipts according to established procedures.
• Prepares receipts and validates all transactions with Point of Sale Software.
• Handles minor complaints.
• Assists in training new clerks.
• Relieves other clerks for lunch breaks.
• Keeps work area clean.
• Operates a vehicle or golf cart to pick up and deliver supplies and materials.
• Performs related work.

• Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
• Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing.
• Must work a varied schedule.
• Must have sufficient hearing and sight to observe activities, equipment and environment and to recognize and take action in the interest of the safety of zoo guests and employees.
• Lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds.

High school diploma or the equivalent.

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must work a varied schedule.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
