Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector (Welding) to join our team in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our welding processes meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Starting pay is based on experience and the interview process. It is 1st shift, at a premier fabrication shop in the Louisville area. We are specifically looking for someone who is very familiar with Flux Welding. Blueprint reading and Weld symbol Interpretation are a requirement for the role.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of welded components to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Utilize various inspection tools and techniques to evaluate weld quality, including visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of findings.
  • Collaborate with the welding team to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback on welding practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  • Report any defects or non-conformities to management and assist in corrective action processes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in quality inspection, specifically in welding or fabrication environments.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques, including visual inspection and non-destructive testing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

You should be proficient in:

  • Visual Inspection Aids
  • Tape Measure Reading
  • Blueprint Reading

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • Flux-Cored Arc Welder

Salary info:

$25 - $30 / hr
