Louisville Zoo Seasonal Assistant Position.

Working on that animal related degree? Maybe have some internships under your belt? Looking to augment your resume further towards a fulltime position in the zoo world? The Louisville Zoo is excited to offer you that next big break as a Seasonal Assistant working with the animal care teams! Birds, carnivores, ungulates, marsupials, primates, pinnipeds and more await! This wonderful development opportunity provides the chance to work with our expert keeper and curator teams in support of our dynamic community of critters.

The Louisville Zoo boasts a large 140 acres campus with three AZA award winning animal facilities, Gorilla Forest, Glacier Run and Islands!

As a huge bonus, Louisville has a small town feel with big city attributes all surrounded by the natural beauty of forests, rolling hills, caverns, and waterways.

Successful candidates will possess:

• A deep passion and compassion for animals and the natural world. (Duh! Pretty baseline.)
• A commitment to your ongoing animal related education and an insatiable desire to learn more.
• A self-motivated, strong work ethic and physical ability required to do the daily, unglamorous, sweaty, dirty-fingernails, hardcore work necessary to achieve our high animal care and welfare standards. (Not trying to scare you away…...well yes, we actually are if you’re not fully ready to commit to this amazing experience!)
• A positive and team focused attitude with the ability to be productive in a group setting or on your own.
• The desire to be inspired by the wonders of a giraffe, cassowary, polar bear, gorilla, tiger, toucan or even a naked-mole rat and to share that wonder and inspiration with zoo guest.

Seriously, Who gets to do this stuff! Not many at all!
