7 Towers is a 23-bed advanced medical-surgical intermediate unit that cares for high-acuity patients from various services including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurology, rehabilitation, and observation.
The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients of various ages, utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice. The RN uses:
- Nursing Practice Competencies to ensure safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care;
- Leadership Competencies to coordinate care and communicate effectively with the care team;
- Professional Profile Competencies for ongoing professional development; and
- Practice Outcomes Competencies to evaluate care quality based on evidence, UofL Health's quality model, and safety goals.
The RN demonstrates competency in caring for complex patients and collaborates with the care team to improve care quality.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
