Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kentucky or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing reassessments in the telemetry unit
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Monitor, document, and evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions
• Educate patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff; serve as mentor and preceptor to new nurses
• Promote teamwork and participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance
