Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The PMHNP will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. This role is essential in promoting mental wellness and improving the quality of life for our diverse patient population.

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as appropriate.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in community outreach and mental health awareness programs.
• Rotate at two local sites in Louisville for Newburg and Russell Clinic for patients.

• Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Proficient in developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and their management.
• Ability to provide effective psychotherapy and counseling.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
• Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Valid state nursing license and prescriptive authority.
• Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in community health or FQHC environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to providing culturally competent care to diverse populations.
