Summary
Baptist Health Surgery Center Eastpoint location is seeking a dedicated full-time Charge RN
. This is an entry-level management position responsible for coordinating patient care and providing leadership to nursing staff during assigned shifts. The Charge RN plays a critical role in ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients across the lifespan—from infancy to geriatrics—in alignment with the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.
As a Registered Nurse, the Charge RN utilizes the nursing process, exercises sound clinical judgment, and follows National Professional Nursing Standards. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes and actively participate in shared governance initiatives. This role also serves as a mentor and role model by supporting professional development, continuous learning, and evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities- Assist the Nurse Manager with operational activities, staff scheduling, and oversight of patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency, support quality improvement efforts, orient and develop staff, and contribute to the overall organization and efficiency of the unit.
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills to support safe and high-quality patient care.
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program (ASN or higher).
- Active Kentucky RN license.
- BCLS required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
