The Brook – Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for children and adults.

The Registered Nurse (RN) participates in treatment planning as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician; assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations; provide and direct milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Best candidates for this position will have behavioral health experience, a strong work‑ethic, and highly consistent timeliness and attendance!

• Demonstrates knowledge of legal implications of nursing practice in performance of duties.
• Delegates tasks, and verifies completion
• Demonstrates full level of awareness of unit milieu, and provides appropriate guidance to staff
• Demonstrates ability to establish priorities concerning total unit milieu
• Serves as primary channel of communication between shifts, for patient care unit, and between departments during designated scheduled shift
• Observes and interprets each patient’s behavior, demonstrating an understanding of psychiatric concepts, diagnoses and developmental stage

Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (associate’s degree) required. BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky required.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
• Current CPR Certification required

  Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Rotating Weekends Required)

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:

Week 1: M-F 8 AM – 4:30PM

Week 2: M-Th 9 AM – 3 PM

Week 3: M-Th 9 AM – 3 PM
