Build a better future as a Production Operator I in Louisville, KY

Compensation Range: 37-43K Annually. Possible Bonus:
Quarterly PEI bonus incentive.

About the role

We are hiring multiple Production Operators to support our manufacturing operations, including Roller, Palletizer, and Belt Line Operator roles on both 1st and 3rd shift. In this hands-on position, you will safely operate and monitor equipment, perform quality checks, and keep product moving efficiently through the line. Ideal candidates are reliable, safety focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Support full plant-wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.
  • Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.
  • Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.
  • Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.
  • Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.
Work Requirements
  • Ensure that all equipment and all their components are free from contamination and foreign materials.
  • Set and maintain all 3rd floor machines to obtain the proper operating conditions and specifications.
  • Monitor temperatures to ensure that product is maintained at the correct settings and proper operating parameters.
  • Monitor size, thickness, and appearance of flake to meet the specifications as well as rate requirements.
  • Maintain operator logs, documenting the condition of all 3rd floor equipment, flake specification, and any variance or compliance with standards.
  • Communicate via 2-way radio with the 1st floor operators in flake room to warn of any problems that may occur.
  • Complete occasional wash-down/change over procedures and documentation including filter and magnet samples.
  • Work area must be maintained, kept clean and neat without foreign materials present, which may become a possible product contaminant.
  • Comply with all plant GMP’s.
  • Perform all tasks assigned to you by a member of the AAK management team, provided that the task is approved by your supervisor.
  • Control the proper flaking rate and performance.
  • Adjust automatic weighing machines to ensure correct quantity of products is being produced per carton.
Cost Control
  • Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in product and shrinkage.
  • Reduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelines.
  • Ensure work is completed to customers specifications.
About you
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Able to be an informal leader, communicate with people in motivating, good trainer and teacher and have a positive attitude.
  • Machinery operating experience a plus.
  • Able to apply general mathematical calculations, analysis of variance and other basic standard equations as required.
