PVC Manufacturing Material Handler – Night Shift

Job DescriptionThis Material Handler is located in Louisville, KY("Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Lead (Supervisor)") and is responsible for packaging products, monitoring for defects, assisting in start‑up and change‑over processes, and maintaining safe, clean, and organized work areas.
Responsibilities- Confirm the product running on each Extrusion line with the Production schedule.
- Assist with Quality Control duties: monitor saw cuts, pipe length, bell fit, print line confirmation, chamfer/bevel, and reference line spacing.
- Package finished pipe in proper crate quantities.
- Weigh and transport finished product via forklift (Atkore certification provided).
- Cut crate boards to proper lengths and adjust if needed.
- Assist with the start‑up and change‑over of the PVC extrusion lines.
- Understand how to get pipe into specification and identify products that are out of specification.
- Perform maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas.
- Be proficient with all material handling and packaging devices.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Good understanding of basic math for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.

- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Complete any required training related to the material handler position.
- Develop relationships with the shift supervisor, operators, and other material handlers within the Extrusion department.
- Understand lean daily management practices and the importance of the role to daily operations.
Good faith estimate: $18.50 per hour. Placement in the range depends on competencies, education, experience, shift, and business needs.
