Due to our exponential growth, The State Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounts Payable Shared Services. This position can be located at our office in Paducah, KY, Louisville, KY, or Evansville, IN.
Reporting to the Controller, Shared Services, the Senior Manager, Accounts Payable Shared Services is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s accounts payable function to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role oversees the development and implementation of AP policies, internal controls, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. The Senior Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages vendor relationships, and provides strategic insights through financial reporting and analysis.
Additionally, the position requires strong leadership to guide and develop the AP team while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company objectives.

- Manage and mentor AP staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Identify and execute process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost-saving strategies within AP operations.
- Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and resolve disputes to maintain positive partnerships.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards; mitigate financial risks.
- Prepare and review AP-related reports, metrics, and forecasts; provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, and other departments to align AP processes with organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable or finance operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and AP automation tools.
- Proficiency in GAAP principles, internal controls, and compliance standards. Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and analysis is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience with SOX compliance, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
