Migration Project Manager (PM) – Fixed Term – Grade 2
LocationGreater Cairo with frequent travel to the North Coast and Minya
Program ScopeThis multi‑year project protects vulnerable Egyptian children and returnee youth at risk of irregular migration by establishing a coordinated protection system, safeguarding their rights and well‑being. Implementation will occur in Greater Cairo, the North Coast and Minya, focusing on child protection system strengthening, facilitating access to appropriate age‑appropriate services and providing information on migration risks.
Role PurposeLead overall project management, ensuring effective partnership and representation with key stakeholders, managing budget development and implementation, and aligning program interventions with Save the Children International (SCI) strategies. Work closely with government bodies, local partners and SCI internal teams to deliver timely, quality implementation and maintain compliance with donor and SCI requirements.
Key Areas of Accountability- Project Management – Design, implement and monitor program and operational activities; support recruitment, manage grant and award processes; ensure accurate data entry and risk monitoring; coordinate with award, MEAL, safety and supply chain teams.
- Budget Management and Compliance – Forecast, track and report expenditures; manage finances in accordance with SCI policies and donor stipulations; ensure grant and contract compliance.
- Project Documentation and Reporting – Deliver timely awards, member and donor reports; document best practices and lessons learned; support research design and dissemination.
- Technical Assistance and Capacity Strengthening – Provide training and capacity building for staff and partners; support quality improvement and technical assistance planning.
- Human Resources Support – Ensure appropriate staffing, performance management and staff well‑being; communicate SCI policies and mandatory training.
- Representation and Networking – Build relationships with local authorities, UN agencies and INGOs; represent SCI in key forums; coordinate with internal teams to maximize resources and avoid duplication.
- Child Safeguarding – Lead implementation of child safeguarding policy; identify and mitigate risks; ensure safe participation and code of conduct compliance.
- General Oversight – Contribute to CO risk management, counter‑fraud controls, do‑no‑harm principle, and health and safety compliance.
- Master’s degree, preferably in migration, social studies, gender or related field.
- 6–7 years’ experience in migration project management across multiple locations.
- Professional expertise in Child Protection and MHPSS.
- Strong understanding of national child protection systems and referral mechanisms in Egypt.
- Experience working with government stakeholders and sub‑grant partners.
- Strong result‑based management, budget management and MEAL experience.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High interpersonal and influencing skills, willing and flexible in challenging circumstances.
- Commitment to Save the Children mandate and child‑focus principles.
