A Day in the Life
As a Floor Care Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities. Daily tasks could include stripping, waxing and buffing floors, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing of common areas, recreational areas, resident rooms, bathrooms and classrooms.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
How This Position Contributes to our Mission
- Floor care duties to include dust mopping, cleaning and burnishing floors, strip and refinish floors
- Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishers vacuums, sweepers, pressure wash equipment and carpet extractors
- Inspect, clean and disinfect resident rooms, restrooms, offices, and public spaces
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety precautions when performing tasks and when using supplies
- Ensure that all established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing environmental and laundry procedures
- Report all hazardous conditions or equipment and any occupational exposure to mitigate risks to residents, guests and employees
- Report maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure a high standard of cleanliness
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language
- Floor care experience in healthcare facility preferred
