Overview

Job Description: This is an Information Technology Operations based role that supports the Kentucky Truck Plant – home of the Super Duty, Expedition and Navigator. KTP is the most complex plant. This position offers an opportunity to be a member of the Site IT team and assist in redefining how site IT lends support to the manufacturing team. The successful candidate will work hands-on to assist the plant in producing vehicles that are Built Tough, interfacing and supporting IT across a broad range of Infrastructure & Applications used to manufacture high-quality vehicles.

The role supports process improvement toward flexible and lean manufacturing, enabling Factory of Tomorrow (e.g., IIOT, software-defined networks, next-generation error proofing, digital solutions, and various mobility solutions) while supporting legacy manufacturing systems. The candidate will work with a global team providing technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and problem resolution for applications and infrastructure on the plant floor, and will lead efforts to ensure manufacturing applications meet productivity goals.

Daily interface with business departments across the plant (assembly, industrial controls, quality, finance) is expected. The position offers opportunities to expand IT skills and gain manufacturing experience for long-term career potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide IT Operations and operations support for the plant, including troubleshooting and timely resolution of issues.
  • Interface with and support IT across a broad range of Infrastructure & Applications used on the plant floor.
  • Support process improvement efforts toward flexible and lean manufacturing and enable Factory of Tomorrow initiatives (IIOT, software-defined networks, next-generation error proofing, digital solutions, mobility solutions).
  • Collaborate with a global team to ensure all manufacturing applications meet productivity goals.
  • Interface daily with plant departments from assembly and industrial controls to quality and finance.
  • Develop IT skills and acquire manufacturing experience to enhance long-term career potential.
Experience Required
  • Experience with Server administration;
    Windows (2016+) and/or Linux
  • Familiar with Cisco routers and switches including basic staging, troubleshooting and cable installation
  • Willing to learn Cisco software-defined architecture (SDA) troubleshooting and implementation
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS
  • Experience with VM servers (vSphere)
  • Experience with Android and iOS devices (iPhones, iPads)
  • Experience with Office
    365
  • Experience with Share Point
  • Experience with Office automation, Windows PCs, and printers
  • Experience with handheld scanners and imagers
  • Any plant floor automation experience (Control systems, PLCs) is highly desired but not required
  • Power Shell scripting is desired but not required
Education
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Bachelor's Degree (Education Preferred)
Additional Information
  • Support a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing plant and be able to work on site with flexible hours, including support for weekend production when necessary
  • Provide technical support (IT Applications, Infrastructure, operating systems, end-user productivity tools) to plant business customers throughout the manufacturing plant
  • Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts
  • Support Plant Floor Systems / Corporate teams in resolving incidents; provide triage and execute business continuity plans, support escalations, and collaborate with global teams as needed
  • Focus on the integration and long-term maintenance of applications and hardware
  • Assist site IT manager with managing assignments and workload
  • Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation
  • Support local network equipment in a Cisco-based environment
  • Support local servers across physical and virtual environments in Windows and Linux ecosystems
  • Support Factory of Tomorrow deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIOT, iOS, software-defined networks, mobile, and Android-based equipment
