Transformation and Training Lead

Overview

Make AI adoption work for people—not just systems. Louisville Metro Government is hiring a Transformation & Training Lead to ensure AI solutions are successfully adopted, understood, and sustained across city government.

This role focuses on change management, workforce readiness, and human-centered transformation. You will help staff at all levels adapt to AI-enabled workflows, build practical AI literacy, and ensure new tools translate into real operational improvement.

• Lead transformation initiatives, change-management planning and readiness assessments for AI pilots and implementations.
• Design and deliver training, workshops, office hours, and self-service learning materials.
• Translate technical changes into clear, accessible language and updated workflows, SOPs, and job aids.
• Support frontline teams during pilots and rollouts by addressing questions and capturing feedback.
• Plan and execute communications for AI initiatives, including FAQs, talking points, and stakeholder updates.
• Track adoption and usage metrics; develop KPIs and targeted interventions to improve uptake.
• Develop reusable templates and toolkits for training, rollout, and change management.
• Build strong relationships across departments and facilitate sessions with staff at all levels.

• Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or a related field, or at least seven (7) years of directly relevant experience.
• Five (5) or more years of professional experience in change management, training, organizational development, or large-scale technology implementation.
• Demonstrated experience leading at least three (3) major change initiatives across multiple departments or stakeholder groups.
• Proven track record designing and delivering training programs for staff at different levels.
• Experience working in government, public-sector, unionized, or highly structured environments (preferred).
• Experience supporting adoption of digital, data, or AI solutions (preferred).
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Note:

This is a hybrid position, but candidates must reside in Kentucky, or an adjacent state, and be able to travel to Louisville on a regular basis to support in person work, collaboration, and operational needs.
