The Quality Engineer will work with stakeholders and developers to ensure the quality of the kiosk self-ordering solution within restaurants. The Quality Engineer will create and execute test plans utilizing both automated and manual environments within KFC’s kiosk application while aiding the kiosk development team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Test Planning (30%)
    • Work with the product owner and development teams to determine test plans for future releases.
    • Independently draft, revise, and approve test plans and scripts to align with kiosk strategy.
    • Assist developers in determining requirements for unit tests.
    • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness of QA strategies.
    • Participate in project meetings, daily scrums, and product planning sessions.
    • Identify automation candidates for regression and smoke tests.
  • Test Execution (30%)
    • Execute manual and automated test scripts against kiosk frontend and SDK changes.
    • Create test data files for acceptance and failure testing scenarios.
    • Follow defect resolution from inception through production.
    • Assist in managing a fleet of test devices and their test builds.
    • Document changes for distribution to internal partners.
  • Automation (30%)
    • Responsible for setting up automation framework from scratch by identifying appropriate test tools.
    • Create smoke and regression suites for device-specific automation.
  • Production Support (10%)
    • Coordinate implementation with the distribution team for alpha, beta, and production rollouts.
    • Act as subject matter expert for respective area.
    • Create training materials for other departments regarding changes to shared systems.
  • Define and implement process improvements for the QA function.

    Knowledge and

    Skills Required:
    • 2-3 years QA and automation experience.
    • Experience with Jira or Microsoft Dev Ops.
    • Experience with automation tools including Smart Bear or SoapUI.
    • Experience with Postman or similar products.
    • Experience automating tablet devices.
    • Experience testing Android applications.
    • Experience with test case management tools like Zephyr.
