As we continue to grow, we are looking for a HR Generalist to help build thoughtful, scalable people practices that support high performance, accountability, and a strong company culture.
Position SummaryThe HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of HR at El Toro, including employee relations, compliance, onboarding and offboarding, benefits support, talent recruitment, and performance management processes. This role partners closely with leadership to support managers, build and execute upon scalable processes, apply policies consistently, and address people issues as they arise.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational execution with thoughtful problem-solving and employee support.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a positive and compliant employee experience
- Partner with hiring managers to support smooth transitions for new employees
- HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
- Administer day-to-day HR processes including employee changes, leave tracking, and offboarding
- Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications related to benefits
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
- Support audits, reporting, and documentation related to HR and compliance requirements
- Assist in maintaining employee handbooks, policies, and internal HR documentation
- Build scalable processes and playbooks to ensure ongoing compliance with HR/Legal requirements
- Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Field employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
- Support managers with performance management, feedback conversations, documentation, and corrective action processes
- Assist with employee investigations and sensitive employee relations matters, escalating as appropriate
- Training, Engagement & Culture
- Coordinate training programs, professional development initiatives, and leadership support efforts
- Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support company culture, values, and organizational effectiveness
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of HR best practice
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust across the organization
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
Preferred:
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- Experience in a growing, technology-driven company
- HRIS experience (we use Paycor) and comfort working with benefits programs, data and reporting
