- Strong knowledge of benefits administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet‑based applications
- Experience with Human Capital Management (HCM) systems
- Experience evaluating compensation and salary structures
An employer is looking for a Benefits Specialist in the Louisville, KY area. You will be responsible for administering employee benefit programs and serve as a primary liaison between employees, insurance brokers, and benefit providers. This role ensures accurate and compliant benefits administration, supports employee understanding and use of benefit programs, and partners with leadership to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
Additionally, this position conducts compensation analyses, maintains salary structures, and supports HR data reporting. The role is responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing HR data to support departmental goals and mandatory government reporting. Additional tasks include:
Key Responsibilities- Administer health and welfare benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations; process documentation through payroll and providers to ensure accurate records and deductions.
- Respond to employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance on enrollment, eligibility, and coverage; oversee vendor performance to ensure consistent program administration.
- Coordinate and facilitate annual open enrollment, including employee communications and collaboration with benefits providers.
- Reconcile benefits statements, conduct audits, and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and all required state and federal reporting.
- Manage HR data storage and reporting; generate a wide variety of reports to support decision‑making and assess HR effectiveness.
- Prepare compliance‑related reports, including the affirmative Action Plan and EEO‑1 Report.
- Support HR programs and processes for all employees; assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Analyze market data and internal metrics to maintain competitive, equitable compensation programs aligned with industry standards.
