The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day Human Resources functions within a food manufacturing warehouse environment. This role ensures consistent enforcement of company policies, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. The HR Generalist also performs administrative duties, supports employee relations, facilitates training and onboarding programs, and maintains accurate HR and operational data in the company’s ERP system and HRIS system (Paycom)
Key Responsibilities Policy Compliance & Enforcement- Enforce company policies, procedures, and workplace standards consistently across all departments.
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards, food safety protocols, and warehouse sanitation requirements.
- Support corrective action processes, documentation, and follow-up to ensure accountability.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
- Provide coaching to employees and supervisors to support performance, communication, and policy adherence.
- Assist with conflict resolution and help maintain a positive, professional work environment.
- Assign, track, and monitor required training for new and existing employees.
- Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including new employee orientation, safety training, and GMP education.
- Support offboarding processes, including exit interviews and system access removal.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
- Check in visitors, applicants, vendors, and auditors following company security and GMP protocols.
- Assist with document creation, filing, and general office tasks.
- Enter and maintain accurate HR and operational data in the company’s ERP system (e.g., employee information, training records, attendance or other HR-related data).
- Run standard reports and support data audits as needed.
- Assist with scheduling interviews, communicating with applicants, conducting pre-screenings, and coordinating hiring steps.
- Support job postings and recruitment efforts as directed.
- Assist with payroll-related tasks such as timecard reviews or attendance tracking, if assigned.
- Help support employee engagement initiatives and company events.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by HR leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 1–3 years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, warehousing, or food production.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and GMP standards (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
