As an HR Business Partner at Crescent Electric, you will be the key liaison between the business and our People Strategies. You will act as a coach and partner to leaders and employees in the business, to ensure that we create and maintain a great place to work by delivering on our strategy. You must be a proactive communicator and change agent, someone who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions.
Travel requirement:
Will be required to travel to North Carolina and/or Georgia quarterly.
- Assess and anticipate human resources-related needs.
- Create and communicate presentations to the business and the HR Team that enable learning, drive the progress of the organization and deliver on our strategy.
- Define and create documentation for promotions, transfers, and new hires in collaboration with managers.
- Identify training needs and partner with the training team and leadership to deploy professional development curriculums that grow and retain our talent
- Monitor training programs to ensure that training objectives are met
- Deploy, coach to and provide input on workforce and succession planning as well as plans business unit restructuring and optimal organizational structure
- Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to build a strong partnership between management and employees
- Partner with the business leaders to build the culture, plans, and success measures that make us best in class and a best place to work
- Drive timely update meetings to check in with each business unit
- Consult regularly with management and team members and provide coaching, support and guidance where needed
- Collaborate with colleagues across the HR department and other functions to, develop policies, programs, and solutions
- Continually evaluate policies, procedures and processes for opportunities of improvement and suggest new strategies
- Analyze data trends and metrics to inform business decisions and drive action
- Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary
- Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with legal counsel when necessary
- Interpret human resources policy to employees and managers to drive to a best outcome.
- Effectively represent the Company on employment law, Worker’s Compensation, and unemployment matters.
- Leverage our HRIS system as a single source of employee data truth and create/analyze reports that can be used to make business decisions.
- Stay current on state and federal employment laws and communicate pertinent information to the Human Resource team and other management.
- Ensure all locations are provided with access to all necessary state and federal employment law posters.
- Associates degree in HR, Labor Relations, Training and Development, Business or related field and two or more years of related experience and/or training.
- Individual must possess strong, comprehensive PC skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook products) and have an aptitude with new software and systems.
- Current knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including workers’ compensation, union relations, and federal and state employment laws
- Must have ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines.
- Employment law knowledge and demonstrated experience in Human Resources generalist work is required.
- Valid Driver's License. Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Experience with recruiting, employee relations, and training and development is preferred.
- Ability to travel to branches and company training which will require occasional overnight stays.
- Occasionally the ability to walk and stand is needed. Often reaching with hands/arms is necessary. Most of the time sitting, use of fingers/hands to feel, and talking or hearing needed.
