Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing hotel operations during overnight hours, balancing and closing daily financial transactions, and providing exceptional guest service at the front desk. This role combines front desk responsibilities with accounting and reporting functions to ensure an accurate transition between business days. Currently schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; however, subject to change based upon Hotel's business levels.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Services
Greet, check in, and check out guests in a courteous and professional manner
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly
Handle late arrivals, early departures, and room changes
Ensure guest security and safety during overnight hours
Night Audit & Accounting
Balance and reconcile daily revenue, cash, credit cards, and room charges
Complete end-of-day procedures and close the hotel’s financial systems
Prepare and distribute daily audit reports for management
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts or transactions
Ensure compliance with internal accounting controls and procedures
Operational Oversight
Monitor hotel activity overnight and act as the manager on duty
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security as needed
Respond to emergencies and follow established safety protocols
Ensure front desk and lobby areas remain clean, organized, and presentable
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous hotel front desk, night audit, or hospitality experience preferred
Basic accounting or cash-handling experience
Proficiency with hotel property management systems (PMS)
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Ability to work independently and remain alert overnight
Preferred
Prior night audit experience
Experience in full-service or upscale hotel environments
Familiarity with POS systems and reporting tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Dependability and integrity
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Professional demeanor and appearance
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
