• VA Careers - Licensed Clinical Social Worker:
  The incumbent serves as a direct care provider of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services for Veterans with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and serves as Program Coordinator for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Recovery Center (PRRC) in the Mental Health Service at the Robley Rex VA Medical Health Center in Louisville, KY.
• Provide consultation to staff concerning how to effectively provide rehabilitation services in difficult cases and provide direction to new staff as they learn duties.
• Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through various modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders.
• Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapies and other interventions such as behavioral health and community interventions; provide group psychoeducation in psychiatric rehabilitation services and Whole Health.
• Implement foundational classes in PRRC and assign appropriate staff.
• Engage community stakeholders in curriculum development and consultation.
• Serve in a coordinator role for psychiatric rehabilitation.

  Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
• Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until fully accredited.
• A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work.

• Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.

• Loss of Licensure or Certification:
  Maintain a full-valid-unrestricted independent license or certification to remain qualified; loss may result in removal from the GS-0185 social worker series and possible termination.
• English Language Proficiency:
  Proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).

• Grade Determinations — Senior Social Worker (GS-12):
• At least two years of post-advanced practice clinical licensure experience; one year at GS-11 level; and evidence of advanced practice skills.
• Experience demonstrating KSAs: specialized interventions, individual/group/family counseling or psychotherapy, complex differential diagnosis, outcome measurement, specialized consultation, policy/procedure development, and program leadership duties.
