Medical Scribe – Full‑time, Primary Care
Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, is seeking a motivated Medical Scribe to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation so that they can focus on delivering exceptional care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%
- Join the provider in the exam room to observe patient visits
- Document patient encounters in a structured note, including history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam
- Assign appropriate CPT and ICD‑10 codes
- Prepare After‑Visit Summaries
- Consult with the provider to ensure accurate and specific documentation
- Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%
- Request and review medical records
- Leverage Oak Street’s population health tools to support documentation improvement
- Prepare for and support daily huddles and documentation reviews
- Consult with the provider on documentation opportunities
- Administrative Support ~ 10%
- Place orders, referrals, and address related tasks
- Support the care team with responsibilities linked to clinical documentation
- Other duties as assigned
- Medical terminology and common medications – required
- Prior clinical experience (shadowing or volunteering) – strongly preferred
- Prior scribe or transcription experience – preferred but not required
- Advanced listening and communication skills – required
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows – required
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other community languages – required where indicated
- Adapt to new workflows and learn quickly – required
- Type 70+ words per minute – strongly preferred
- Follow direction and work as part of a team – required
- Self‑starter within role scope
- Excellent job attendance and willingness to work in‑person – required
- Commit to at least 1 year (2+ ideal) – required
- Work approximately 40‑45 hours per week during clinic hours (full‑time) – required
- Comply with hospital and Oak Street policies, including HIPAA – required

Hourly: $17.00 – $25.65 (based on experience, education, and geography). Eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
Work HoursMonday‑Friday, 40‑45 hours per week during clinic hours.
