Medical Scribe – Full‑time, Primary Care

Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, is seeking a motivated Medical Scribe to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation so that they can focus on delivering exceptional care to our patients.

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%
  • Join the provider in the exam room to observe patient visits
  • Document patient encounters in a structured note, including history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam
  • Assign appropriate CPT and ICD‑10 codes
  • Prepare After‑Visit Summaries
  • Consult with the provider to ensure accurate and specific documentation
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%
  • Request and review medical records
  • Leverage Oak Street’s population health tools to support documentation improvement
  • Prepare for and support daily huddles and documentation reviews
  • Consult with the provider on documentation opportunities
• Administrative Support ~ 10%
  • Place orders, referrals, and address related tasks
  • Support the care team with responsibilities linked to clinical documentation
• Other duties as assigned

• Medical terminology and common medications – required
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing or volunteering) – strongly preferred
• Prior scribe or transcription experience – preferred but not required

• Advanced listening and communication skills – required
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows – required
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other community languages – required where indicated

• Adapt to new workflows and learn quickly – required
• Type 70+ words per minute – strongly preferred
• Follow direction and work as part of a team – required
• Self‑starter within role scope
• Excellent job attendance and willingness to work in‑person – required
• Commit to at least 1 year (2+ ideal) – required
• Work approximately 40‑45 hours per week during clinic hours (full‑time) – required
• Comply with hospital and Oak Street policies, including HIPAA – required
• U.S. work authorization – required

Hourly: $17.00 – $25.65 (based on experience, education, and geography). Eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.

Monday‑Friday, 40‑45 hours per week during clinic hours.
