POSITION:
Registered Behavior Technician
REPORTS TO:Operations Manager and BCBA
Job Summary:The Behavior Technician will apply empirically based behavioral principles to all clients that the Behavior Technician works with. The Behavior Technician functions as an integral part of the treatment team and ensures that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner in order to benefit the clients that the Behavior Technician works with. This is an hourly position.
Responsibilities /
Essential Functions:Applies empirically based behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients and staffImplements Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs) under the direction of the behavior analysts/consultantsTeaches the clients to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the ITPsAssists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills. This may include toilet training, eating, and other self-help skillsIs a team-player and assists with ideas, suggestions and work dutiesActively participates in staff training programs designed to increase overall skillsCommunicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, therapist trainers, therapists and clientsBecomes fluent in the understanding and administering of the VB-MAPP, ABLLS, and other assessments as neededObserves records, and reports the condition and behavior of the clients, including maintaining daily records during the dayWorks with clients, staff, families, and community to implement client's treatment plansConsistently implements behavior plans to reduce client's socially inappropriate behavior and promote appropriate social behaviorsEffectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include client physical aggression and property destructionCompletes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent in a timely mannerFollows Adapt for Life and Adaptive Community Support Services policies and procedures, including adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulationsSubmit all notes, progress reports, billing and other necessary documentation on timeMaintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertiseThe above list reflects the essential functions and other job functions considered necessary of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job or assigned by supervisory personnel. Educational Requirements:High School diploma, preferably some collegeRegistered Behavior Technician, or ability to be board certified within three months of hireApplied Behavior Analysis, Medicaid, Waiver and Private Insurance experience preferredAbility to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with people at all levels of the organizationStrong leadership experience with great interpersonal and people skillsStrong technical, analytical, and organizational skills and abilitiesDemonstrated ability to develop programs that fit strategically with ACSS goalsPhysical Requirements:Must be physically able to respond appropriately at all times when working directly with a patientMust be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbsMust be able to react quickly to behavior outbursts in children and young adultsMust be able to effectively use 'response blocking' procedures to protect self and clients from injury at all times when workingMust be able to utilize crisis management (e.g., manual restraint) procedures where/when needed or directedMust be able to be on your feet a minimum of four hours per day#J-18808-Ljbffr
