Responsibilities
This WOW (Work on Weekends) position schedules for WOW employees include every weekend (Nights - Friday & Saturday, Days - Saturday & Sunday). Employees in designated WOW positions earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential. Responsibilities:
- Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management & patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
- Requires following appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
- Functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients.
- Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medications, maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals from provider’s offices, insurance verification, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.

QualificationsRequired:
- Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health career Association (NHA)
AND One Of:
- Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY OR Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY o You can register for either licensure by clicking here:
Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
Desired:
- 1 year experience working in pharmacy.
- High School Diploma or GE
