Responsibilities
The Diagnostic Sonographer must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, and ultrasound imaging equipment. The technologist must possess skills and understanding of image quality, communicate to patients the nature of the tests, and relieve their anxiety. The sonographer must maintain an understanding of radiographic positioning, radiographic technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. They assist in maintaining a work area free from hazards and present a pleasant and helpful manner to patients, physicians, subordinates, and other department staff.
The diagnostic sonographer performs routine diagnostic imaging studies as needed, varies work schedule, and serves all patient populations within the Norton Healthcare system ranging from neonate to geriatric.

QualificationsRequired:
- Must obtain within one (1) year of hire, one of: RT-ARRT, CNMT, MR-ARRT, CMRIT, RDMS, S-ARRT, RVT, RVS, or N-ARRT
Desired:
- One year ultrasound experience
