Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct all aspects of the dietary department.
  • Complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc., related to the Dietary department.
  • Train and supervise other dietary employees.
  • Prepare work schedules.
  • Prepare lists of food necessary to fill menu needs for general and modified diets.
  • Check all food deliveries and sign delivery ticket. Assign this duty to another in case of absence.
  • Take monthly inventory.
  • Keep monthly meal census.
  • Observe trays to determine accuracy of therapeutic diets.
  • Prepare monthly dietary reports.
  • Visit patients regularly.
  • Attend patient care plan meetings.
  • Write progress notes on all residents.
  • Supervise food preparation, tray service, and dining room services when on duty.
  • Develop and enforce cleaning schedule.
  • Observe plate waste to check acceptability of food and diet.
  • Responsibility for staffing, training, supervision, discipline, and schedule for department.
Requirements
  • Applicant must possess strong communication, time-management, supervisory skills.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
  • Food service industry experience required.
  • At least six months of long-term care experience preferred.
