Description:
Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is the premier civil/human rights agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The mission is to eradicate discrimination through enforcement of the Kentucky Civil Rights Act. The agency receives, investigates, and litigates complaints of discrimination. This position provides investigative and enforcement services to assure compliance with laws and regulations administered by the Human Rights Commission in accordance with KRS 344.
Under the guidance of a Human Rights Enforcement Officer II, this position conducts preliminary investigations to evaluate allegations of discrimination submitted to the Kentucky Human Rights Commission.
- Conducts thorough, timely and impartial investigations of complaints.
- Secures documents and evidence needed for the investigation. Compiles statistics through interviews and witnesses.
- Prepares a proposed determination on each assigned case, using evidence from both parties, forming the nucleus for the recommendations on findings.
- Consults with Legal Staff on conclusions to be drawn from evidence.
- Prepares detailed and clearly written reports.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
One year of experience involving the investigation, interpretation, or enforcement in human rights activities, OR one year of legal research, administrative, labor relations, or community organization work.

EXPERIENCE:
Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Additional experience in one of the above-mentioned fields will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
