About The Role:

The Investment Consulting & Strategy team within Baird Private Wealth Management (PWM) business plays a key role in ensuring that Baird’s Financial Advisors have the capabilities across our wealth platform necessary for delivering great outcomes for our clients. At Baird, we believe that providing our clients a best-in-class Wealth Management Experience is built upon three intersection priorities:
Investment Consulting, Comprehensive Planning, and Relationship Management. The Lending Consultant II is responsible for partnering with Financial Advisors, Branch Associates, and other key associates in PWM’s Wealth Solutions Group to offer a full range of wealth management tools, primarily focusing on the effective use of credit and liquidity.

As Clients’ needs evolve to a planning-centric Wealth Management Experience, leveraging solutions that minimize the risk that short-term needs disrupt long-term goals become critical to sustainably drive great outcomes. Baird’s Liquidity Solutions allow clients the flexibility to capitalize on financial opportunities while allowing them to keep their longer-term goals invested with minimal disruption. The person that successfully fills this role will actively drive lending and liquidity initiatives across Baird’s 1,400 financial advisors and Baird Trust while also proactively identifying gaps in the platform to improve the suite of solutions available for the Branch Network.

Impact You’ll Make:
  • Proactively engage Financial Advisors, Branch Leaders, and other key associates in the Branch Network to drive awareness and adoption of lending and liquidity solutions within Advisors’ practices with a primary focus on Securities Backed Lines of Credit.
  • Collaborate with Baird Operations, Partner Banks – including TD Bank and Tri State Capital – and other associates in Baird’s Corporate Resource Groups to drive continued product development and process improvement.
  • Serve as an expert to Advisors newly recruited to Baird regarding the lending products available across the platform and how to ideally utilize them for their transition and in their book of business.
  • Continuously engage Baird’s internal partners – including Business Development and Wealth Planning – to develop deeper understanding and utilization of lending and liquidity solutions within our Branch Network.
  • Participate in training and workshops for Financial Advisors, Trainees, and Foundations Associates to advance our practice management capabilities and product utilization.
  • Actively troubleshoot sensitive and timely client issues with both external Banking Partners and internal Corporate Resource Groups as needed.
  • Partner closely with the Investment Consulting & Strategy teams to help identify gaps across the platform and engage in strategic planning to help improve the suite of solutions available for Baird’s Clients.
  • Mentor associates across the Lending & Investment Solutions teams to develop broader subject matter knowledge within the department.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned, including providing backup to Cash Management and Identify Theft Protection colleagues as needed.
What You’ll Bring to Baird:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of relevant professional experience in the financial services industry required with 2-3 years of experience with banking products strongly preferred.
  • SIE, Series 7, 66 licensed required within 18 months of start date.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to Baird branches and/or industry meetings.
  • Ability to learn and effectively navigate Baird’s Private Wealth Management technology platforms (Thomson ONE, 3rd party lending platforms, etc.).
  • Exceptional client service skills including both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • History of delivering consistent, high-quality performance.
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to act as a team player, assisting others in the department, when necessary, is mandatory.
  • Possesses a high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
