This is an onsite position located at 5800 Cane Road, Louisville KY 40258.
Responsibilities- Organize and coordinate general accounting activities for the plant.
- Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger and prepare basic financial reports.
- Analyze and report any variances.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, including preparation of estimates and accruals.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Comply with financial policies, procedures, and PCA’s SOX 404 Key Controls.
- Prepare, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial reports such as balance sheets, profit‑loss statements, and capital expenditure reports.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze forecasts; prepare periodic reports comparing forecasts to actual costs.
- Follow up on customer accounts, including credit issuances and collection activity.
- Process hourly payroll and related payroll/employee functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and state/federal requirements.
- Guide, develop, and train accounting associates; assist the Plant Controller in supervising day‑to‑day activities.
- Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
- Three (3) years of previous work experience in a business office/accounting department with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable functions.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with financial systems for invoicing, credit/collections, expense reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing sector, container board, and corrugated packaging industry.
- Solid understanding of standard financial/accounting procedures, GAAP concepts, and internal control.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment; prioritize assignments and handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical skills for detail‑oriented tasks and reviewing multiple documents and reports.
- Above‑average written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate to multiple audiences.
- Networking and relationship‑building skills with individuals across experience levels.
- Strong listening and evaluation skills.
- Teamwork experience and commitment to open communication and information sharing.
- Starting salary range: $73,000 – $93,000.
- Annual bonus based on individual contribution and company performance.
- Paid vacation:
Three (3) weeks per calendar year (pro‑rata vacation during initial year of hire). - Paid holidays.
