CRA Mortgage Loan Officer — Louisville

Stock Yards Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYBT), parent company of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, operates in Louisville, Central, Eastern and Northern Kentucky as well as the Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan markets.

As a CRA Mortgage Loan Officer, your day will be filled with opportunities to generate loan volume through sales efforts focused on low to moderate income areas and borrowers in Jefferson County/Louisville MSA. Experience in lending is essential, and knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines is preferred. Good communication skills are important to better serve our customers as you work closely with all parties involved.

Responsibilities
  • Perform essential duties within the designated market of Jefferson County/Louisville MSA, emphasizing low to moderate income areas and borrowers.
  • Work to achieve a satisfactory CRA rating in the designated market.
  • Aggressively pursue contact with individuals, realtors, builders, non‑profit organizations, and advocates to expand network contacts and relationships to generate sales.
  • Participate in business development activities outside of the office, such as realtor open houses, homebuyer seminars, financial literacy opportunities, church groups, trade shows, and community development activities.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities, such as lunch‑and‑learn presentations to groups and membership in civic organizations to generate sales.
  • Consult with customers to compile a fully completed loan application to meet compliance guidelines while negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze information for loan acceptance and approval.
  • Communicate with clients and potential clients, answering questions and providing information, acting as the primary point of contact from sale to closing.
  • Work diligently with all mortgage operations (Setup, Mortgage Compliance, Underwriters, Processors, and Closers) to facilitate a loan transaction.
  • Create a collaborative partnership with your processor to ensure an efficient and expedient loan process.
  • Expand partnerships as requested by the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach.
  • Keep the Regional Lending Sales Manager abreast of all CRA projects and strategies, educational classes, correspondence courses, on‑the‑job training, and investor websites.
  • Complete outside sales duties with limited supervision; be prepared for evening and weekend work due to loan demand and customer convenience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Lending Sales Manager.
Job Requirements
  • High school or GED education.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of outside sales experience with FHA, VA, and conventional lending.
  • Professional representation of Stock Yards Bank & Trust in all interactions with customers and outside contacts.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong teamwork, learning orientation, and policy comprehension.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work situations and meet deadlines.
  • PC literacy with 35 WPM typing speed.
  • Knowledge of basic underwriting guidelines preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent sales, negotiating skills, and assertiveness.
  • Ability to perform under high‑pressure situations.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include frequent computer use, repetitive hand and finger movements, occasional lifting of items up to 10 pounds, and sometimes lifting 11–50 pounds with assistance. Travel may be required for training, meetings, and other business functions.
