Responsibilities for Estimator

• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
• Estimate costs by looking at the entire project
• Present cost estimates to upper management
• Prepare reports detailing all of the costs going into a project
• Notice differences between estimated cost and actual cost
• Look at customer requirements for a project
• Work with the sales team to prepare proposals
• Coordinate scope coverage with multiple trade contractors to ensure complete coverage on projects
• Experience with conceptual and schematic design budgeting with limited information
• Ability to identify trades/scopes required for a project with or without a complete spec manual
• Prepare high level quality takeoffs and apply unit pricing
• Extensive understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook:
  Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam preferred
• Compare scopes and utilize leveling charts or scope comparison sheets to identify lowest complete bids
• Attend owner scheduled site visits with subcontractors
• Conduct constructability and cost control review with in-house design team

• 2 years of experience working as an estimator
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to put together a professional presentation
• Ability to create reports on costing data
• Amazing analytical and math skills
• Ability to work well on a team
• Very detail oriented
• Ability to understand technical drawings and requirements
• Deep knowledge of how processes work
