Design Engineer Intern

Overview

Challenger Lifts, Inc. a division of Snap-on is seeking a candidate that is capable of providing support through various projects, which include but are not limited to design, development, and testing of products, components, and systems.

Responsibilities

* Assist in creating and modifying engineering drawings using CAD software.

* Support product design, prototyping, and testing activities.

* Participate in design reviews and provide input on improvements.

* Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications.

* Work with teams in Kaizen events to produce new processes to improve workflow.

* Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure design feasibility.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

* Must have an eager attitude to learn and develop new skills

* Must be willing to be hands on with projects

* Must be willing to be forklift trained

* Ability to interact with peers and subordinates.

* Mechanical aptitude.

* Working knowledge of:

o Blueprints

o Manufacturing processes

o Lean Methodologies

o Process design

o 6S practices

* Must have excellent communication skills including written (email correspondence, report writing, etc.) as well as formal and informal presentation skills.

* A solid understanding of process flow, process design, and lean manufacturing principles.

* Experience with 3D modeling and simulation tools.

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.

* Must align with the Snap-on "Who We Are" Mission statement.

* Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes;
Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses or Prescription Safety Glasses (If Applicable), Gloves (If Applicable), and Ear Plugs (If Applicable).
