Position Overview:
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8 or more years of experience in Consulting Engineering. This candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Electrical Engineering. This position will work with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy efficient buildings for various clients as well as complex infrastructure projects.

The position is responsible for designing and overseeing electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control) for bidding and construction on various projects. The candidate will work with a team to design energy efficient buildings for CMTA’s clients and is expected to be involved in all project phases.
Experience in project management and business development is preferred.
- Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
- Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
- Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Professionally stamp drawings and prepare affidavits.
- Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design, research, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
- Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
- Research and analyze client design requirements to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs.
- Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
- 8+ years of experience with MEP design
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with internal and external project management
- Experience in MEP design and specifications
- Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
- Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
