Overview
We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Louisville, KY surrounding area.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead geotechnical investigations, analyze subsurface conditions, and design foundation and soil-related solutions to support safe and efficient construction. You will contribute to diverse projects including commercial, infrastructure, municipal, and federal developments, providing technical expertise from concept through construction.
ResponsibilitiesConduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, field testing, and subsurface explorations.
Analyze geotechnical data to evaluate site suitability, foundation conditions, and project risk.
Design foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and other geotechnical systems.
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, recommendations, and technical documentation for clients and project teams.
Perform construction materials testing and field inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Utilize geotechnical software (e.g., AutoCAD, Geo Studio, Settle3, GRLWEAP) for modeling and analysis.
Monitor construction sites, address field issues, and ensure adherence to safety and engineering standards.
Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project design.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and team resources as required.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, subsurface investigation, or construction materials testing.
Minimum 2-3 years of project management experience preferred.
Proficiency in geotechnical software such as AutoCAD, Geo Studio, Settle3, GRLWEAP, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, retaining structures, and geotechnical principles.
Experience with stormwater management, hydraulics, or water treatment systems is a plus.
Familiarity with surveying, drafting, and site layout techniques is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
