Product Development Mechanical Engineer

Here's a Glimpse At What You'll Do

• Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products as well as product changes and enhancements within Lantech's design standards and workflows.
• Solve mechanical engineering problems from component through system level.
• Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes.
• Ensure new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Devises and conducts validation tests to ensure product quality.
• Troubleshoots operational issues and devises short and long-term remedies.
• Applies engineering theory to solve complex problems.
• Learns and applies new skills as projects require.
• Maintains knowledge of new technologies and applies where appropriate.
• Identifies and acts on opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborates with and supports teammates and other colleagues.
• Directs junior engineers, technologists, and technicians as necessary.
• Travels to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Has had exposure to design of automatic equipment
• 3D CAD experience
• 2D CAD drafting experience
• Microsoft Office experience

• Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience designing or supporting industrial equipment.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) or a related field, Masters in Mechanical Engineering a plus.

• Solid Works experience a plus
• Pneumatics experience a plus
