Automation Technician II Industrial

Overview

We are looking for an Industrial Automation Technician to join a rapidly growing construction and specialty contracting company. This role supports the installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial automation systems. The position works closely with project management and engineering teams to deliver PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure successful project execution and system performance.

• Start up, commission, and service PLC/HMI/SCADA control systems
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on job sites
• Support project kickoff, turnover, and closeout activities
• Document field changes and support as-built documentation
• Collaborate with other technicians to develop and share technical solutions
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain technical expertise
• Communicate technical findings and updates to project and operations teams

• Associate degree in automation, robotics, technology, or related field or 3–5 years of relevant controls experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or manufacturing preferred
• Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms
• Understanding of industrial networks, process controls, and system commissioning
• Proficiency with standard office and documentation tools
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to travel to customer sites, including overnight travel as needed
• Ability to work in office and active jobsite environments
