Layout Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Layout Design Engineer for a job with our automotive client in Louisville, KY. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in Layout, Autodesk AutoCAD, sketches, record drawings, as-built drawings, photographs, verbal and written information into 2-D AutoCAD drawings and knowledge of layout/civil/structural/architectural, in Manufacturing/Automotive background.

$40/hr to $46/Hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

• Use Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 software. Use model and paper space modes.
• Produce construction installation and station rearrangement layouts.
• Produce section and elevation drawings depicting layout of new equipment.
• Translate field sketches, record drawings, as-built drawings, photographs, verbal and written information into 2-D AutoCAD drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and electrical CAD detailing.
• Conduct field checks of existing plant and update cycle line layout.
• Prepare clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches.
• Run meetings and update material parts numbers per cycle line layout meetings.
• Development of station rearrangement layouts.
• Supporting Cycle Line layout meetings to review station layouts for the new program and support equipment and tooling installation, as needed.
• Develop drawings for Bid packages or plant skilled trades.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and CAD software tools.
• Strong time management, communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
