About the Job
The EI Group is seeking an Industrial Hygienist technician to join our team and play a key role in assessing, analyzing, and mitigating workplace hazards. The position will be responsible for evaluating and controlling industrial chemical, physical, and biological hazards to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of effective exposure control measures, policies, and training programs aimed at protecting worker health/safety and managing this data on EHS software platforms (including Cority, Benchmark Gensuite and Velocity

EHS, among others) utilized by a wide variety of client manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct workplace evaluations related to health and safety risks, including chemical, physical, and biological hazards.

· Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and other basic industrial hygiene assessments (we’ll train you if you’re new!).

· Analyze data and assist with preparing reports that explain findings and recommend controls.

· Help develop written safety programs and guidance documents.

· Stay up to date on relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, etc.).

· Offer support and guidance on industrial hygiene issues to team members and clients.

· Get familiar with EHS software platforms (like Cority, Velocity

EHS, Benchmark/Gensuite, Enablon) experience is great, but willingness to learn is just as good.

· Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) for document creation, data tracking, and presentations.

· Manage communications and organize data using everyday tools — email, spreadsheets, shared docs, etc.

· If you’re comfortable with digital tools and organizing information, be sure to highlight that in your resume and interviews.

Qualifications:

· A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

· OR strong work experience in a related role or technical field, even without a formal degree.

· A basic understanding of workplace safety or industrial hygiene principles.

· A willingness to learn technical sampling techniques and safety best practices.

· Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations (OSHA, NIOSH, etc.) is a plus — but not required from day one.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills — clear, concise, and professional.

· Comfort working independently, with support from a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or an interest in pursuing it.

· Experience in EHS software, Project Management software, etc.

· Experience in performing industrial hygiene risk assessments.

Travel Required:

a mix of local project work, short duration overnights (2-3 day away from home, and possibly full weeks on location)
