Role DescriptionArcadis is searching for a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team in Indianapolis. This hybrid, hands‑on role involves leading tasks and projects, managing staff, working directly with clients, and participating in business development activities.
Role Accountabilities- Develop project scope, budgets, and delivery schedules for each assignment, ensuring tasks and projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Lead municipal water/wastewater projects from planning to design and construction of treatment plants, pump stations, stormwater systems, and distribution/collection systems.
- Create construction documents/specifications and provide engineering services during construction.
- Coordinate execution of projects across disciplines.
- Prepare construction packages for engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems.
- Develop cost estimates and project schedules.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis and use design software to solve complex issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Maintain Arcadis’ standards and specifications for municipal water/wastewater design and construction.
- Participate in industry conferences, associations, marketing, and business development activities.
- Work with senior staff to manage regional clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Staff development and supervision skills, including mentoring junior staff.
- Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Client relationship skills: proposal development and client management experience.
- Travel ability 10%–20%.
- Experience in water/wastewater plant/facility design and construction oversight.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or MBA.
- 15 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Secondary certification (e.g., W/WW Operators License, BCEE, PMP, LEED, ENV SP).
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Salary Range$97,600 – $146,400, depending on experience, education, budget, and location.
