Our client in the chemical industry is looking to add a talented Senior Project Engineer to their team. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the planning, procurement, execution and completion of small to large scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs, implements, and communicates an operational plan for completing projects including project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
• Documents plan, assembles appropriation request, and obtains organizational project approvals.
• Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
• Develops RFP packages with appropriate selection criteria and metrics.
• Ensures safe implementation of project construction by enforcing the established safety rules and procedures.
• Oversees contractor activities to insure they comply with established company standards.
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
• Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, regulatory compliance, etc.
• Collaborates with other engineers and technical personnel and coordinates their specialized contributions to the development of the project.
• Identifies, evaluates, monitors, and reports project risk according to company risk assessment policy.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in manufacturing environment, with 3+ years’ experience in project engineering/management.
• A safety mindset applied to self, colleagues, and contractors.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/diagrams.
• Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
• Project Management Certification is desirable.
• Six Sigma training/certification is desirable.
