Overview
Our client’s leading AEC and geotechnical services firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Louisville, Indianapolis, or Nashville. This individual will serve as a technical leader, overseeing geotechnical investigations, materials testing, and report development. The role requires strong experience in proposal development, QA/QC of technical reports, and a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in geotechnical consulting, a strong proven portfolio of client relationships, and a solid understanding of subsurface evaluations and construction materials testing. Familiarity with AI tools or automation platforms for improving internal processes is a major plus.
Location options:
Louisville, Indianapolis, or Nashville.
- Plan, oversee, and execute geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish
- Conduct and review soil testing, site investigations, and subsurface analyses
- Lead development and delivery of detailed geotechnical reports, ensuring QA/QC standards are met
- Write proposals and coordinate scoping and pricing with internal teams and clients
- Interface with clients, engineers, field technicians, and contractors to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff on best practices
- Act as a technical reviewer for deliverables, ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Support business development through client interactions and pursuit of new opportunities
- Promote safety protocols and ensure compliance with project and company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
Master’s degree with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering preferred - Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with materials testing and report writing
- Solid foundation in field and lab testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working directly with clients
- Demonstrated ability to generate or support new business via client portfolio or relationships
- Familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms for improving documentation, reporting, and proposal workflows
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities
- Prior experience as a technical reviewer or team lead
