OverviewWe are looking for a Plant Manager to join an industry-leading organization to lead efforts in a key underground mining operation. The role will focus on developing company-wide strategies related to recruiting, training, and retaining a strong team in an effort to provide top‑notch quality to customers while maintaining overall project efficiency. - Manage a large limestone underground mining and storage operation 2M TPY
- Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement
- Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and development through training
- Ensure compliance with all company and government policies and regulations
- Direct mine and pit planning per company expectations
- Efficiently manage all mine employees, production, and equipment maintenance
- Oversee proper implementation of all safety procedures
- Ensure the pit and mine activities meet plan specifications
- Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with the area QC department
- Actively reach out and be involved in the local community
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering, or a similar field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and/or engineering, plus significant experience in aggregate processing procedures and underground/surface mining.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a personnel supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of AggQC and Agg Flow is a plus.
- Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and an understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, communicate, and implement best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production, and safety excellence.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
- Possess strong basic math knowledge.
- Basic surveying and mapping skills are required.
- Proven safety record and excellent compliance with MSHA safety standards.
- Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
